What’s New at the Jersey Shore?

Want to go boating in one of the best spots along the shore in New Jersey? Starting from the Ocean Gate Yacht Basin in Bayville, NJ you can get on board one of our boats to sail the Barnegat Bay with Sailtime Jersey Shore.

Making their home at this marina are two Hunter 33s and a Hunter 216. The marina is located where the Tom’s River travels to meet the bay, providing a natural safe haven for boating and learning to sail. You’ll be able to sail in a sea shore atmosphere, anchor in a quiet harbor or even do a bit of crabbing t otake a chance at catching your dinner for the evening.

There are great “gunkholing” areas throughout the bay and river which are just perfect for an afternoon stop or great for overnight anchoring. When you’re done boating, you canfish or even take a swim off the back of the boat. Going ashore for family fun on the boardwalk is even available in Seaside Heights. What a great way to create lifelong memories, have fun and get some relaxation!

If you’re looking for a dock and dine opportunity, you can head south to find a couple of options on the Forked River at the Captain’s Inn tiki bar or Latitudes at the Southwinds Marina. But you don’t even have to travel that far because just around the corner from the marina after Good Luck point you can grab a mooring ball and catch the water taxi duringa stop at the Water’s Edge.

With steady wind all season long, this area is great for a sail at anytime. Anchor at Tice’s Shoal and walk across the beach to spend a day on the ocean. From the marina there’s a boating area of about 17 nautical miles north to Bay Head, NJ with sailable water stretching 7 nautical miles south to the entrance of the channel that connects Barnegat Bay and Little Egg Harbor. Access to the Atlantic Ocean is about 9 nautical miles south by boat when making your way through the Oyster Creek Channel in the Barnegat Inlet. From there, a sail to Atlantic City or even Cape May is possible. Making your way through the Manasquan Inlet gets you closer to the ocean if you want to go north and head towards New York Harbor. Just think how exciting it will be to sail past the Statue of Liberty as you head in for a night on the town.

Sailing new jersey and atlantic city

The goal for the base now, is to expand in other locations along the coast. PowerTime Jersey Shore is currently targeting Atlantic City and also have had inquiries about boating from the inlet near Cape May. The operation is actively looking for both powerboat and powerboat Owner Members so that they can keep up with the demand.
