PowerTime Plus Provides Global Access

The beauty of our membership boating program is the flexibility granted as part of your membership. When you join, you become a member of a specific boat at a specific base. It is how we guarantee you so much time to use your boat each month. A limited amount of people are allowed to become a member of any given boat.

At any given base, where there is not 100% membership occupancy, we have sail-date openings that we use to conduct our training and offer sail times to members from other bases. In the USA many members find themselves boating in several cities every year. In the UK this means you get the chance to sail all around Great Britain… or choose to travel to Australia or here in North America!

Recently, we got this note back from a UK member after experiencing this kind of access. Note that in the UK, the programme is called “Global Acccess”, while here in North America, we call it “PowerTime Plus.”

Here are a few words about our trip and a few photos. Feel free to use as you see fit.

The Boyle family had a fantastic few days boating Vela, during the one week of summer weather we’ve had this year. We swapped a few of our days from Quantum of Solace, a PowerTime boat based in Pwllheli, North Wales, for the trip. We did a loop taking in Yarmouth, Cowes, the Beaulieu river, Studland Bay and back to Poole, with visits to beaches, pubs, yacht clubs and restaurants along the way.

Highlights included boating past the Needles; sitting on the terrace of the Royal Solent Yacht Club watching the sun go down, G&T in hand; motoring up the Beaulieu river; and anchoring off Studland Bay for lunch and a swim. It was our first time boating in this area and we had a great time, helped by lots of sunshine every day and sufficient wind most days. We would definitely sail in this area again.

Where will you go boating with your PowerTime membership?
