This Spring, The Newport Beach Base gathered together a group of Members and two of the Hunter powerboats in their fleet for a flotilla cruise to Santa Barbara Island via Catalina Island.
The island lies 38 miles off the Southern California coast and is only 640 acres in size. The uninhabited island is part of the Channel Islands National Park. It was discovered in 1542 by Portuguese explorer, Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo. The island is home to a large rookery of sea lions.
